Mineral Distribution Map of Iran |
The map was published to show geographical distribution of mines, deposits and indications. All points were classified into two categories of metallic and non-metallic. Shape and color of points show a specific mineral and their size is an assay of reserve. There are some appendixes such as Nonmetallic Minerals Map (5000k), Iron Deposits Map (10000k), Lead and Zinc Distribution Map (10000k) and Copper Distribution Map (10000k). The map consists of four sheets. |
Magmatism Map of Iran |
Extrusive and intrusive magmatic rocks have been mapped on light picture of sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. It contains information of petrology, petrogenesis, geochemistry of intrusive, subvolcanic and volcanic rocks of Iran. The map based on the relationship between tectonics and magmatism. |
Seismotectonics Map of Iran |
High seismicity of country caused the production of first seismotectonics map of Iran in 1976. The map consists of seismotectonical data overlaid on tectonics map. Distribution of historic and instrumental (20th Century) earthquake centers, their magnitude and focal depth and their relation to active faults were contributed on the map. Also the maps of Earthquake Risk, Maximum Ground Acceleration, Intensity Zonation of Historical Earthquakes and isoseismal are existed in 5000k scale. Second seismotectonics map of Iran was prepared in 1998 with the scale of 1000k. |
Photomosaic (Satellite) of Iran |
Georeferenced satellite mosaic of Iran with geometrical correction, there are two other mosaic in 5000k and 2500k scales. |
Tectonics Map of Iran |
In 1973, first tectonics map of Iran was prepared. With attention to crust, sedimentary environments, magmatism and metamorphism, Iran was subdivided to Sedimentological-structural zones that interpret geological history with consideration of rock units. The map was the start of systematic geology of Iran. Paper map was finished but detailed information has been remapped in 1000k scale and will be presented in the website. |
